Every village needs a cat.
Maplewick has Whiskers.
Nobody is quite sure where Whiskers came from, and nobody would be particularly surprised if he had several homes around the village.
That’s because Whiskers doesn’t really belong to anyone.
He belongs to Maplewick.
You might find him curled up in a sunny window, wandering along the high street, sitting outside a shop or casually appearing beside someone who could really use some company.
Whiskers has a habit of turning up wherever something interesting is happening.
He doesn’t seem particularly concerned with schedules, appointments or anyone else’s plans. He comes and goes as he pleases, usually looking as though he has somewhere very important to be.
Nobody knows exactly where he spends his nights.
Nobody knows where he goes when he’s not wandering around the village.
And nobody knows quite how he always manages to appear when there’s something going on.
The villagers have learned not to question it.
Whiskers is simply Whiskers.
A familiar face.
A quiet companion.
And perhaps the one resident of Maplewick who knows more village secrets than anyone else.
Of course, he’s not telling.
He’s a cat.
